Historic Deeds (1861–1956)

Search historical deeds from 1861 to 1956. You can view deeds from 1957 to the present through our Official Records search tool.

1. Search the index on the left.
2. Once you identify the needed document, select the hyperlinked index line and the image of the record will display.
3. If you already know the book and page number of the document you are searching for, you can use the “Search for a Document” function and bypass steps 1 and 2.

Cattle Brand Books

Explore historic cattle brand books from the 1860s through the 1940s.

1. Use the “Search for a Document” function. Use the “Book” dropdown menu to select Marks and Brands.
2. Select the volume number you would like to view.
   • Volume 1 contains records from the early 1860s to approximately 1937.
   • Volume 2 contains records from approximately 1937 to 1945.
   • Records from the late 1930s may be found in either book. While Book 2 generally contains records beginning in 1937, some records from the mid to late 1930s also appear in Book 1.
3. Select the blue Search button.
4. Browse the digitized pages by using the arrow buttons in the top right-hand corner to advance to the next page.
5. Records are organized by the first letter of the owner's last name and then by the date the brand was recorded. For example, all surnames beginning with "B" are grouped and arranged chronologically by recording date rather than alphabetically within the "B" section. Some blank pages appear throughout the books due to the original recording methods used at the time.
